Pop star Taylor Swift, known for hits such as “Anti-Hero” and “Style,” donated $1 million to hunger relief ahead of the Christmas holiday.
In a Tuesday post on the social platform X from the nonprofit Feeding America, CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot said that the organization was “incredibly grateful for Taylor Swift’s $1 million gift to Feeding America.”
“This holiday season, her continued support is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we unite to end hunger,” Babineaux-Fontenot added. “When we join together alongside people facing hunger, we can make sure families have a full table this holiday season and beyond.”
Feeding America’s post featured a design similar to the branding of Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
The “Out of the Woods” singer also gave $1 million to the American Heart Association, the organization said on X Tuesday, “in honor of her father, Scott Swift, whose heart condition she spoke about earlier this year.
Swift’s donation to Feeding America comes after chaos surrounding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the recent government shutdown, which lasted over a month.
SNAP benefits expired at the beginning of November, and court rulings went as high as the Supreme Court, which reinstated and halted the full issuance of benefits.
