Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Tuesday responded to President Trump labeling her a “traitor,” repeating her accusation that Trump is trying to hide information related to late sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein.

“Him calling me that has become a badge of honor because I’m not in his cult, I refused to bow to his demands to cover up the Epstein files to protect his friends, and I stopped fighting the hardest for a team that intentionally refuses to win,” Greene wrote in a post on X.

The president earlier this month endorsed Clay Fuller to replace Greene, who resigned from her House seat representing Georgia’s 14th congressional district at the start of the year.

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One on Monday, Trump said, “Well, we have a lot of people that want to take Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Greene’s place.”

The former Georgia representative, once a loyal Trump supporter, has become increasingly vocal in her criticism of the president, on issues ranging from the Epstein files to Trump’s military operations in foreign countries and Republicans failing to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies.

Trump is expected to visit her congressional district on Thursday ahead of the March 10 special election to replace her.

Currently, 18 candidates are running to replace Greene. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, a runoff election will be held April 7.

Fuller, a district attorney, came in fourth in the 2020 Republican primary that Greene won on her way to a first term in office.

“Clay Fuller has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Georgia’s 14th Congressional District – HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!” Trump wrote in a February Truth Social post.

Fuller accepted Trump’s endorsement in a post on X and said it was “the honor of a lifetime.”

Greene warned earlier this month that the MAGA brand is all a “lie,” describing Trump’s first year back in office as focused on obliging wealthy supporters.

“I think people are realizing it was all a lie. It was a big lie for the people. What MAGA is really serving in this administration, who they’re serving, is their big donors,” Greene said in an interview with radio personality Kim Iversen.
