At least 2 dead from hypothermia in Louisiana
The Louisiana Department of Public Health announced on Sunday that at least two people in the state had died from hypothermia in the ongoing winter storm.
Two men died in Caddo Parish, according to the agency.

1 person found dead in Austin, Texas, during winter storm
Austin city officials confirmed on Sunday that at least one person has died during the ongoing winter storm.
Austin-Travis County EMS confirmed to ABC News that one person was found dead in the parking lot of an abandoned gas station early Sunday morning. Due to the circumstances, the presumed cause is hypothermia; however, ATCEMS cannot officially rule on causes of death. Only the medical examiner can make that determination.
The identity of the individual has not been released.

15 inches of snow reported in Northeast so far
Snow totals in the Northeast so far have reached: 13 inches in Bridgeport, Connecticut; 12 inches in Ridgefield, New Jersey; 11 inches in the Bronx in New York City; and 15 inches in Midland in western Pennsylvania.

More than 11,000 flights canceled, including all flights at DCA
More than 11,000 flights have been canceled within, into or out of the U.S. on Sunday, including all flights at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and most flights at the Philadelphia International Airport.
Sunday will be considered one of the biggest weather-related flight cancellation days in U.S. history.
At least 2,500 flights have already been canceled for Monday.

Dangerous deep freeze hits the South and Northeast
The massive winter storm is bringing a blast of freezing air, which is especially dangerous for the South.
The wind chill — what temperature it feels like — dropped Sunday to 6 degrees in Dallas; 7 degrees in Little Rock, Arkansas; minus 3 degrees in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; minus 2 in St. Louis, Missouri and 15 in Nashville. The storm knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of customers in the South, so people could be stuck without crucial heat during this deep freeze.
The dangerous cold is also invading the Northeast. The wind chill on Sunday plummeted to 6 degrees in New York City, and 1 degree in Buffalo, New York.

Mavericks-Bucks game postponed
The Dallas Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks game set for Sunday in Milwaukee has been postponed because the storm is keeping the Mavericks from leaving Dallas, the NBA said.
The date of the rescheduled game has not yet been announced.

Heavy snow taking over Northeast cities
Snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour were reported from Philadelphia to New York City on Sunday, while heavy sleet struck Washington, D.C., and much of Virginia.
Snow totals so far have hit 12 inches in New Jersey, 15 inches in Pennsylvania and 10 inches in New York and Maryland.
New York City is forecast to get 8 to 12 inches of snow, which would be the city’s biggest snowfall since 2021.
The Boston area could get a whopping 20 inches of snow.

Dangerous wind gusts reported in Northeast and the South
Wind gusts are reaching 32 mph at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, bringing visibility down to one-quarter of a mile.
In Dallas and Jackson, Mississippi, wind gusts are up to 25 mph. These strong winds pose a major threat because they could topple the trees and power lines that are coated in ice.
