President Trump on Friday shared an AI-generated image mocking Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D), the latest in his feud with the governor since his return to the White House almost one year ago.

The image shared on Truth Social depicts Pritzker in a city, surrounded by flames and homeless encampments around him, with people lying on the ground.

The governor is shown carrying a cheeseburger in his right hand while raising up a sign in his other hand that reads: “Chicago doesn’t need help. We have everything under control.”

The Hill has reached out to Pritzker’s office for comment.

Trump has railed against the governor over crime in Chicago. The Trump administration deployed the National Guard and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to handle crime and enforce federal immigration laws there, respectively.

The Supreme Court’s ruling against Trump’s deployment of Guard members in Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland led the president to withdraw troops. Trump vowed on Truth Social on Wednesday that troops “will come back, perhaps in a much different and stronger form, when crime begins to soar again – Only a question of time!”

Days earlier, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit against Pritzker and Attorney General Kwame Raoul (D) claiming that two Illinois state laws represent an “unconstitutional attempt to regulate federal law enforcement officers” and “threaten the safety of federal officers.” The DOJ claimed that federal officers have seen more harassment and threats of violence in recent months.

The first of the two laws, the Illinois Bivens Act, allows individuals the right to sue anyone who violates the state constitution or U.S. Constitution while carrying out civil immigration enforcement. The Court Access, Safety, and Participation Act bans civil immigration arrests of anyone attending state court proceedings in good faith.

Pritzker clapped back at the administration, saying its “masked agents are not targeting the ‘worst of the worst’ — they are harassing and detaining law-abiding U.S. citizens and Black and Brown people at daycares, hospitals, and courthouses,” a spokesperson previously told The Hill.

Trump has used AI on social media to mock political opponents before. He previously posted AI-generated videos insulting Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), as well as “No Kings” protesters.
