Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said that she recommended a “full travel ban” to President Trump during a Monday meeting.
“I just met with the President. I am recommending a full travel ban on every damn country that’s been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies,” Noem said Monday on the social platform X.
“Our forefathers built this nation on blood, sweat, and the unyielding love of freedom—not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, suck dry our hard-earned tax dollars, or snatch the benefits owed to AMERICANS,” she continued. “WE DON’T WANT THEM. NOT ONE.”

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indefinitely paused the processing of immigration requests from Afghans on Wednesday. Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the suspected shooter of U.S. Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, is Aghan national who entered the country in 2021 via a program for those who assisted the U.S. during its two-decade war in the Middle Eastern nation.

Beckstrom, 20, died from her wounds on Thursday, while Wolfe, 24, remains in serious condition after showing “positive” signs, West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey (R) said Monday.
USCIS Director Joseph Edlow also said Thursday that his agency, at the direction of the president, is reexamining green cards held by individuals from 19 countries.

A June memo from the White House restricted migration from 19 countries of concern: Afghanistan, Burundi, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Laos, Libya, Myanmar, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Togo, Turkmenistan, Venezuela and Yemen.
When reached, the Department of Homeland Security said the full list of countries impacted by Noem’s recommendation will be revealed soon. When reached for comment, the White House referred to DHS for comment.
