Three people were killed in a shooting outside a drivers license office in Louisville, Kentucky, on Friday afternoon.

Louisville Metro Police responded about 12 p.m. to the shooting in the 6200 block of Willismore and found two females and a male with gunshot wounds in the parking lot.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victims were transported to University of Louisville Hospital, where they died of their injuries, officials said.

The relationship — if any — among the victims has not been determined.

Louisville Metro Police Maj. Donald Boeckman told reporters it’s unclear if there was more than one shooter but said “they did flee the scene, according to witnesses.”

He said authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and speaking to witnesses for descriptions of potential suspects.

Police said there does not seem to be a public threat at this time.

“It’s absolutely a tragedy. And I’m surprised there wasn’t more people injured because many people were standing outside,” Boeckman said.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear called the shooting a “senseless act of violence” in a post on X. He also thanked law enforcement for responding quickly to the scene and transportation department officials for working quickly to protect others in the state.
