Retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Blaine Holt told Newsmax on Friday that Iran’s government could soon surrender to the United States.
On “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Holt said the U.S. military could strike Iran before or after Tuesday’s midterm elections.
“President Trump can say whatever he wants about Oh, maybe I’ll get them after the midterms are over,” Holt said. “And that’s probably likely.”
“However, militarily, we don’t care,” Holt added. “In fact, we would like our enemies to be surprised about when we hit them.
“If the IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] is sitting around the Isfahan bunker and whatever’s left of them is resting and relaxing, because there’s not going to be anything until after Tuesday, I wouldn’t rest easy.”

Holt said the U.S. military could launch a strike against Iran on an hour’s notice.
“But what may happen is that there’s some sort of capitulation as what’s left of this regime agrees to an unconditional surrender,” Holt said. “And we give the country of Iran back to the Iranians.
“That’s also a possibility here, which we can’t discount,” Holt added. “There’s nothing left of them. They’re that decimated.”
