Democratic House lawmakers including Minority Whip Katherine Clark (Mass.), Pete Aguilar (Calif.), Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), Frank Pallone (N.J.), Richard Neal (Mass.), Lauren Underwood (Ill.), Lori Trahan (Mass.), Terri Sewell (Ala.) and Bobby Scott (Va.) will be helping Protect Our Care to launch its new campaign titled “Sick of It! Fix Health Care Now.”
“Protect Our Care is investing nearly $5 million in the coming months. Working alongside state and national partners, the campaign will mobilize communities across the country through town halls, storytelling, digital engagement and advertising, and events holding Republicans accountable for their devastating health care cuts,” the organization said in a statement shown first to The Hill.
The campaign will run in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. A coast-to-coast bus tour will take place in the fall as part of this push.
Along with Democratic lawmakers, the campaign will be supported by over 100 national and local advocates and organizations, including SEIU and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
Democrats have historically performed better than their Republican counterparts when it comes to healthcare, and candidates this season have zeroed in on the rising cost of healthcare since the GOP took control of the White House and the Capitol.
With Affordable Care Act Marketplace plan premiums projected to rise by double digits next year, Democrats have amassed plenty talking points to attack Republicans on.
