Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) on Thursday expressed his frustration with those who haven\u2019t backed House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) in staying in his role yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview on NewsNation\u2019s \u201cThe Hill\u201d with anchor Blake Burman, Bacon said he and his colleagues backing Johnson \u201cfind it very irritating\u201d when it comes to those holding out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt irritates us that these people undermine our leadership and the vast majority of us who wanna get things done, but you gotta optimize, you gotta find consensus,\u201d Bacon said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some hard-line House conservatives have been demanding substantial nebulous commitments from the Speaker to earn their backing in Friday\u2019s vote for House speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.), a former head of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, said last Friday on Fox Business that he is \u201cgoing to keep my options open\u201d regarding his Speaker choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRight now, I think that Mike has done an admirable job under tough conditions, but I\u2019m going to keep my options open. I want to have a conversation with Mike,\u201d Perry said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a good man,\u201d Bacon said. \u201cHe\u2019s honest, man of faith. I think he\u2019s done the very best he can with a very small majority.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.), a key holdout in House Speaker Mike Johnson\u2019s (R-La.) tight race to continue in his position, said Thursday that she will decide Friday whether to vote for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
