The Trump campaign, for one, called it a &#8220;complete failure.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It looks like&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/category\/elon-musk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Elon Musk<\/a>&nbsp;is pulling out all stops to ensure that his&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1822799027580137510\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">upcoming interview<\/a>&nbsp;with former President&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/trump-78-just-called-himself-fine-brilliant-young-man-2024-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a>&nbsp;on Monday doesn&#8217;t go awry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Am going to do some system scaling tests tonight &amp; tomorrow in advance of the conversation with Donald Trump,&#8221; Musk wrote in an&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1822800951855477133?s=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X post<\/a>&nbsp;on Sunday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mercurial billionaire went on to stress test the X platform&#8217;s by livestreaming himself gaming, twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Musk&#8217;s&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/i\/broadcasts\/1OwGWNZDVZRKQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">first stream<\/a>, which ran for about 19 minutes, had 2.1 million views while his&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/i\/broadcasts\/1LyxBgVZqWjKN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">second stream<\/a>, which lasted for around 46 minutes, had 1.3 million views as of press time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7050\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-2.jpg 900w, https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-2-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ensuring X&#8217;s stability is probably a top priority for Musk, considering the platform&#8217;s&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/online-events-bigger-desantis-2024-campaign-twitter-launch-2023-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spotty performance<\/a>&nbsp;last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In May 2023, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida launched his presidential campaign on X instead of on cable television. DeSantis&#8217; launch, however, didn&#8217;t go quite as planned. The highly touted livestream got off to a rough start and encountered&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/desantis-campaign-launch-on-twitter-spaces-off-to-gltichy-start-2023-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">multiple technical difficulties<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The glitchy livestream was&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/fox-news-joked-desantis-glitchy-campaign-launch-twitter-spaces-2023-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mocked by many<\/a>, including the Trump campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Glitchy. Tech issues. Uncomfortable silences. A complete failure to launch. And that&#8217;s just the candidate!&#8221; a spokesperson for Trump told Business Insider then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That said, the DeSantis debacle doesn&#8217;t seem to have deterred Trump from the idea of doing a live-streamed X interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But while Trump may be happy to pop up on X for an interview, he&#8217;s sticking to his own social media platform, Truth Social.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The once prolific tweeter decamped to Truth Social after he was banned from from the platform after the&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/timeline-what-trump-was-doing-as-his-mob-attacked-the-capitol-on-jan-6-2022-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">January 6 riots<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although Musk reinstated Trump&#8217;s X account in November 2022, Trump has only&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/1694886846050771321\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted on it once<\/a>&nbsp;\u2014 in August 2023 when he shared a picture of his mugshot and a link to his campaign website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For what it&#8217;s worth, Musk&#8217;s&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/donald-trump-loves-elon-musk-45-million-donation-pac-2024-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">avowed support<\/a>&nbsp;for Trump may have been critical in slowly easing him back to the platform.
