Brian Kemp (R) said that the prosecution of former President Trump in his Georgia election interference case, led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D), is looking more political in Tuesday comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Georgia\u2019s governor said that he has to be \u201ccareful\u201d when talking about the topic, but shared that he thinks the case has gotten \u201cmore political\u201d in light of the recent scrutiny Willis is under after admitting to having a romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, an attorney she hired for the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI gotta be careful about what I say here because I was subpoenaed by Fani, with Willis in the special Grand Jury,\u201d Kemp said during his appearance on NewsNation Tuesday. \u201cBut it\u2019s hard to believe that a process that I think many people, including myself believe is very political, regardless of the merits behind the case, has gotten even more political now because of her actions and those of Mr. Wade and others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday, Terrence Bradley, Wade\u2019s former lawyer, retook the stand after a judge determined he must testify in greater detail about Willis\u2019 romantic relationship with Wade. Both Wade and Willis acknowledged the relationship, but have claimed it started after Wade got hired to be on the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bradley was presented as the defense\u2019s star witness, but during his appearance on Tuesday, he denied having knowledge of when the romantic relationship between Wade and Willis began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI do not have knowledge of it starting or when it started,\u201d Bradley said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kemp, who was subpoenaed by Willis as a part of her investigation, tried to quash the subpoena in 2022, but a judge ruled in August that year that he must appear before the grand jury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kemp said on Tuesday that he trusts Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee\u2019s judgment and that he will make a \u201cgood\u201d decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very confident Judge McAfee will make a good decision and then we can go from there,\u201d Kemp said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hill and NewsNation share a parent company, Nexstar Media Group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Georgia Gov.
