Former President Trump is holding a narrow 4-point lead over President Biden in a new poll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forty-nine percent of registered voters in the CNN poll, conducted by SSRS, said they would be \u201cmore likely to vote\u201d for Trump, while 45 percent said they would be \u201cmore likely to vote\u201d for Biden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same poll, 38 percent of respondents said they approve of \u201cthe way\u201d Biden is \u201chandling his job,\u201d while 62 percent said they disapprove. Thirty-four percent also said the president \u201cdeserves to be\u201d reelected, while 66 percent disagree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite Trump\u2019s lead in the poll among registered voters, 38 percent said they had a favorable opinion of the former president. Fifty-seven percent of registered voters said they have an unfavorable opinion of him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CNN\/SSRS poll findings come in opposition to a recent Quinnipiac University national poll that found Biden 6 points ahead of Trump, 50 to 44 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump holds a 2-point lead over Biden in a potential rematch, according to a polling average from The Hill and Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden is looking toward South Carolina, which holds its Democratic primary Saturday, for a boost to his campaign. An endorsement from Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) ahead of Biden\u2019s win in the state in 2020 helped revive his campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI really believe that people are beginning to focus on things now and by time we get to the primary election on the 3rd, I think that there\u2019ll be a good turnout of voters and I think that Joe Biden would beat his number from New Hampshire,\u201d Clyburn said in an interview with The Hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CNN\/SSRS poll was conducted between Jan. 25 to 30 with 1,212 respondents and a margin of sampling error of 3.4 percentage points. There were 983 labeled respondents labeled as registered voters in the poll, with a sampling error of 3.8 percentage points for them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
