The U.S. oil industry has made more than $130 billion in profit during the Iran war\u2014while normal Americans continue to pay exorbitant prices at the gas pump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New York Times<\/em><\/a> reported that the country\u2019s 50 largest oil and gas companies raked in a massive profit from April to September. The $130 billion profit margin eclipses the $47 billion that these companies made during the same sixth-month period last year. The last comparable economic windfall was after Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, when the oil and gas industry made slightly higher profits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American households have spent $1,100 on fuel alone since the war began. That\u2019s an extra $147 billion all together, according to<\/a> Brown University\u2019s Climate Solutions Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once again, it is massive corporations that stand to gain the most from violence and conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Trump said it himself a few days ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd while oil prices are temporarily high \u2026 the United States oil and gas business is making hundreds of billions of dollars…. Our country is making hundreds of billions of dollars \u2018cause of what\u2019s happened in the Middle East.\u2026 Trillions of dollars,\u201d he told<\/a> a rally crowd in Georgia on Saturday. \u201cMy people said \u2018please don\u2019t mention that sir, because people are paying a little higher.\u2019 … I said I don\u2019t give a damn I\u2019m gonna say it: We\u2019re making a freaking fortune.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the president says \u201cwe,\u201d he means Exxon, Chevron, and Valero. Not you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
