John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), the Senate Majority Whip, on Sunday expressed concern about the recent reporting on U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle and her finances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWell, what we\u2019ve seen in the reports is very troubling. It\u2019s concerning. And I\u2019m sure there\u2019s going to be an investigation. I would assume the State Department would be conducting that,\u201d Barrasso told CBS\u2019s Margaret Brennan on \u201cFace the Nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI know that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will have oversight and look into that as well. But I think the public has a right to know what was \u2014 what is found, and it is quite a bit of concern,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Guilfoyle asked a Trump donor named Eric Deters to pay a $100,000 credit card bill, passing along instructions for a wire transfer that would not leave a paper trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt won\u2019t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express,\u201d Guilfoyle wrote on Signal in July 2025, according to messages reviewed by The Hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FBI post featuring Abdul El-Sayed could have violated Hatch Act<br>Guilfoyle raised concern at the time that her conversations with Deters would risk her confirmation chances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Journal later reported Saturday that senior Trump administration officials were talking about Guilfoyle\u2019s future in her role and that a decision from President Trump was coming shortly. The outlet\u2019s reporting included new allegations that wealthy Greek businessmen put money toward Guilfoyle\u2019s luxury travel as she used her role to promote their business interests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
