{"id":17762,"date":"2026-10-05T15:56:57","date_gmt":"2026-10-05T07:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/?p=17762"},"modified":"2026-10-05T15:57:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-05T07:57:09","slug":"pentagon-pulls-b-1-bombers-from-uk-base-following-alleged-terror-threat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/?p=17762","title":{"rendered":"Pentagon pulls B-1 bombers from UK base following alleged terror threat"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"645\" height=\"377\" src=\"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/6.png 645w, https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/6-300x175.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 645px) 100vw, 645px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Pentagon pulled all 12 B-1 bombers this weekend from the U.K.\u2019s RAF Fairford air base to their home stations in the U.S. weeks after an alleged terror threat against a U.S.-operated post in England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhile operational security precluded us from confirming the movement of our assets and forces in real-time, we can acknowledge now that all U.S. bombers that were deployed to RAF Fairford have re-deployed to their home stations in the United States,\u201d a Pentagon official told The Hill on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Airmen that operate America\u2019s bomber force, including B-1s, B-2s, and B-52s, remain ready to deliver precision global strike capabilities \u2013 including through operations that launch and recover from the continental United States \u2013 anywhere, anytime,\u201d the official added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flight trackers spotted multiple B-1 bombers departing the base, located in Gloucestershire, Sunday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials did not reveal what prompted the rushed withdrawal of the heavy, long-range bombers that can carry a payload of both guided and unguided weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The U.S. military has relied on the military base to base B-52 and B-1 bombers for the Trump administration\u2019s war against Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The withdrawal comes after British authorities arrested six men linked to a suspected attack on the air base that officials said was foiled. The U.K. police have released the suspects on bail, but the investigation into the incident has continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Five of the men involved in the incident were U.K. nationals in their 20s.
