Fifty-eight percent of respondents disapproved, and 10 percent did not offer an opinion on his job performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The approval rating marks a new low for Trump\u2019s presidency in the center\u2019s polling. A CNN survey conducted within the same period reported an approval rating of 34 percent for the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seventy-six percent of GOP respondents in the July survey approved of Trump\u2019s job performance, while 12 percent disapproved. The results are a notable difference from the university\u2019s June 24 poll, in which 85 percent of Republicans expressed confidence in the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement, a White House spokesperson told the Hill, \u201cNo other President in history has accomplished more for the American people than President Trump, who is working tirelessly to create jobs, cool inflation, increase housing affordability, and more. The President has already made historic progress not only in America but around the world, and this is just the beginning as his agenda continues taking effect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stay<br>Many of the Quinnipiac University poll\u2019s respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Iran, which has driven up energy costs, raised political tensions across the globe and left 18 U.S. service members dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fifty-four of respondents said the U.S. is not winning the war, compared to the 36 percent who said they believe the country is and 11 percent who had \u201cno opinion\u201d on the matter. Additionally, 66 percent said the conflict has not been worth the benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Respondents were politically divided on the war, with 93 percent of Democrats and 73 percent of independents saying the war has not been \u201cworth fighting\u201d and 67 percent of Republicans saying the military conflict has been worth the consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Quinnipiac University poll surveyed 963 self-described registered voters across the country from July 23-27 with a margin of error of 4.1 percentage points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As public criticism of President Trump\u2019s job performance persists amid the months-long Iran war and resulting strains on the U.S. economy, the president is losing support from some voters in his party, according to a survey released Wednesday.
