The judge called the error &#8220;unfortunate&#8221; and told the parties to \u200breturn to court in Manhattan on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/\u4f01\u4e1a\u5fae\u4fe1\u622a\u56fe_20260617153043-1024x675.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/\u4f01\u4e1a\u5fae\u4fe1\u622a\u56fe_20260617153043-1024x675.png 1024w, https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/\u4f01\u4e1a\u5fae\u4fe1\u622a\u56fe_20260617153043-300x198.png 300w, https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/\u4f01\u4e1a\u5fae\u4fe1\u622a\u56fe_20260617153043-768x506.png 768w, https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/\u4f01\u4e1a\u5fae\u4fe1\u622a\u56fe_20260617153043.png 1049w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mangione is accused of fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian \u200bThompson outside a hotel in Midtown in December 2024, a brazen killing that was widely condemned by public officials but became emblematic of Americans\u2019 frustration with rising healthcare costs and health insurance industry practices.<br>Mangione pleaded not guilty \u200bin December 2024 to state murder, weapons and forgery charges brought by Manhattan District Attorney \u200bAlvin Bragg.<br>His trial is set for September before Justice Gregory Carro in Manhattan.<br>The agenda for Wednesday&#8217;s hearing is \u200cnot clear, \u2060but Carro indicated on Tuesday that it would be related to questionnaires for prospective jurors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thompson led UnitedHealth Group&#8217;s (UNH.N), opens new tab insurance unit before he was shot dead in the early morning outside a hotel where he was staying for an investor conference.<br>Graphic footage of the killing and a \u200bfive-day manhunt for a \u200bsuspect made the \u2060case a media fixture and social media sensation. Mangione was arrested in Pennsylvania.<br>Mangione separately pleaded not guilty in April 2025 to murder, weapons and stalking charges \u200bbrought by Manhattan federal prosecutors.<br>U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett, who is overseeing \u200bthe case, \u2060threw out the murder and weapons charges over legal technicalities in a surprise ruling in January.
