President Trump <\/a>on Wednesday morning declared<\/a> total U.S. control of Greenland is the only option, a statement that comes just hours ahead of a White House meeting with Vice President Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio <\/a>and foreign ministers of Denmark and Greenland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bipartisan bill has emerged in the Senate to try to stop any purchase<\/a> of the Arctic territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran\u2019s protests have left over 2,500 people dead, and Trump has threatened to respond with strikes against the country\u2019s repressive regime. But Washington is divided<\/a> over that prospect, with Democrats and several Republicans vocally opposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Capitol Hill, Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr <\/a>will testify in an oversight hearing in the House. The lower chamber will also vote on a minibus bill ahead of the Jan. 31 government shutdown deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
