{"id":14342,"date":"2025-12-25T15:58:26","date_gmt":"2025-12-25T07:58:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/?p=14342"},"modified":"2025-12-25T15:58:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-25T07:58:32","slug":"trump-deploys-quick-strike-specialized-military-forces-within-range-of-venezuela","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/?p=14342","title":{"rendered":"Trump deploys quick-strike specialized military forces within range of Venezuela"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"312\" height=\"176\" src=\"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/ScreenShot_2025-12-25_155233_306.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/ScreenShot_2025-12-25_155233_306.png 312w, https:\/\/tingchao.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/ScreenShot_2025-12-25_155233_306-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 312px) 100vw, 312px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Defense Department on Monday deployed aircraft designed to transport special-operations forces, troops and equipment as part of an ongoing military buildup in the Caribbean that could signal imminent strikes against the regime of Venezuelan President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The White House and Pentagon isn\u2019t commenting on the developments, but President Trump on Monday touted \u201ca massive armada formed\u201d in the Caribbean and suggested the United States would begin to deploy land forces to the region as well, declaring \u201csoon we will be starting the same program on land.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that at least 10 CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft, which are used to transport special forces, arrived in the Caribbean theater from Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Journal also reported that C-17 cargo planes from Fort Stewart and Fort Campbell Army bases arrived in Puerto Rico on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deployment of the aircraft signals that elite U.S. units will be participating in the buildup of forces against Maduro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cannon Air Force base is home to the 27th Special Operations Wing and the Special Operations Aviation Regiment, which have the expertise to conduct deep infiltration missions while the 75th Ranger Regiment, which is based in Fort Stewart, Ga., is capable of seizing airfields to establish a base of operations for a broader deployment of troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fort Campbell, which straddles Kentucky and Tennessee, is home to the 101st Airborne Division, which also has quick-strike capability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Pentagon spokesperson declined to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A spokesperson for the U.S. Southern Command declined to comment \u201cdue to operational security concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDue to operational security concerns, we do not disclose details on the movement of defense personnel and assets,\u201d said Steven McLoud, a media relations officer for the U.S. Southern Command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio briefed senators last week on military actions off the coast of Venezuela and repeatedly assured lawmakers that the Trump administration is not seeking regime change through military action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Trump on Monday declined to say what his endgame is in the region, only warning that Maduro would face severe consequences if he \u201cplays tough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf he wants to do something, if he plays tough, it\u2019ll be the last time he\u2019ll ever be able to play tough,\u201d Trump told reporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">White House chief of staff Susie Wiles indicated in an interview with journalist Chris Whipple that the president wants to force Maduro from power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe wants to keep on blowing boats up until Maduro cries uncle,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd people way smarter than me on that say that he will.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Defense Department on Monday deployed aircraft designed to transport special-operations forces, troops and equipment as part of an ongoing military buildup in the Caribbean that could signal imminent strikes against the regime of Venezuelan President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro.
