House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said Thursday he is \u201cbullish\u201d on next year\u2019s midterms in spite of a redistricting loss in Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI guess that\u2019s a disappointing outcome in Indiana, but there\u2019s about 14 states at some stage of the process now, either litigation or redistricting. So, we shall see. We shall see. But I\u2019m very, very bullish about the midterms. I know that we are going to win because we have a great record to run on,\u201d Johnson told The Hill on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, the Indiana state Senate did not pass a new House map favoring Republicans, a loss for President Trump after he had pressed state lawmakers to approve the new lines. The upper chamber rejected the map in a 19-31 vote, resulting in applause from some in the Senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have better candidates, better message and we have a lot to show the people, so we\u2019ll continue our momentum,\u201d Johnson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump on Wednesday had refreshed a warning to primary Republican lawmakers who are against the Republican push to switch up Indiana\u2019s congressional map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnybody that votes against Redistricting, and the SUCCESS of the Republican Party in D.C., will be, I am sure, met with a MAGA Primary in the Spring,\u201d Trump said in a Truth Social post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf Republicans will not do what is necessary to save our Country, they will eventually lose everything to the Democrats,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
