Rep. Thomas Massie hit back at President Donald Trump<\/a> this week, accusing the president of “trying to be a bully” after he appeared to criticize the Kentucky Republican’s recent marriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump on Friday<\/a>, Nov. 14 shared a post on Truth Social asking if Massie got “married already,” saying “His wife will soon find out that she\u2019s stuck with a LOSER!” Massie married<\/a> Carolyn Moffa, a former congressional staffer for Sen. Rand Paul, last month. Massie’s late wife, Rhonda Massie, died in June 2024. They were married for over 30 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massie and Trump have\u00a0most recently been at odds<\/a>\u00a0because the Kentucky lawmaker and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-California, introduced legislation that would force the Justice Department to release a full version of the government’s files on accused sex trafficker\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>. The Trump administration has fought against the move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when asked about Trump’s comments during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” on Nov. 16, Massie joked that his wife said “we should have invited Donald Trump<\/a>. He\u2019s mad that he didn’t get an invitation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We\u2019re taking it with a grain of salt,” Massie said. “He\u2019s being a bully, or trying to be a bully.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massie in the interview also addressed Trump’s endorsement of a Republican opponent<\/a> running against the Kentucky lawmaker in the 2026 midterm elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are winning,” Massie said. “And not only the speaker, but the attorney general, the FBI director, and the president himself, and the vice president, they’re taking a big loss this week because after months of fighting, I am winning this week with Ro Khanna. We’re forcing this vote, and it’s going to happen,” he said of his push known as a discharge petition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massie and Trump’s ongoing feud is far from the first time they’ve publicly split. For example,\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0lashed out at\u00a0Massie<\/a>\u00a0in June over his criticism of U.S.\u00a0airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
