Such behavior is disgraceful, unbecoming of any Republican, and stands in direct opposition to the values our movement represents,\u201d the Young Republican National Federation\u2019s board of directors said in a post on Instagram Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThose involved must immediately resign from all positions within their state and local Young Republican organizations. We must hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, respect, and professionalism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The messages obtained by Politico spanned for more than seven months and were part of a chat among Young Republican leaders in New York, Kansas, Arizona and Vermont.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the Telegram chat group titled \u201cRESTOREYR WAR ROOM\u201d referred to Black people as \u201cmonkeys\u201d and \u201cthe watermelon people,\u201d according to the Politico report published Tuesday. They also discussed placing political rivals in gas chambers and sexually assaulting adversaries in the chat, Politico reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chat also featured racial slurs and reportedly said that rape was \u201cepic,\u201d according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A White House official told Politico that the White House has no affiliation with the group chat and that hundreds of groups ask the White House for its endorsement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Politico report also comes at a time of intense discussion about political violence in the wake of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the killing of a Minnesota lawmaker and assassination attempts on President Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pressure has also recently mounted on Virginia Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones to exit his race in the wake of leaked text messages in which he openly discussed violence directed toward former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert (R).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Numerous Republicans, both in and out of Virginia, have pushed for Jones to drop out, including President Trump and Vice President Vance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Young Republican National Federation called for immediate resignations following a Politico report on a leaked group chat that featured racist, antisemitic and violent discussions. \u201cWe are appalled by the vile and inexcusable language revealed in the Politico article published today.
