They are basically an arm of the US government. They make exquisite munitions, amazing things that can knock a missile out of the air when it\u2019s coming towards you,\u201d Lutnick added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lutnick said that Pentagon officials were discussing the idea. \u201cWhat\u2019s the economics of that? I\u2019m going to leave that to my secretary of defense and the deputy secretary of defense; these guys are on it and are thinking about it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Major US weapons firms already have a significant influence on US policy due to their funding of think tanks and what is known as the \u201crevolving door\u201d between the US government and defense firms.
