Tech billionaire Elon Musk \u2014 who spearheaded the cost-cutting efforts at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) \u2014 said he was \u201cdisappointed\u201d to see the massive legislative package of Republican priorities make it through the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was, like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit\u2026 and it undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing,\u201d Musk said in a preview of an interview set to air this weekend on \u201cCBS Sunday Morning.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill \u2014 titled the \u201cOne Big Beautiful Bill Act,\u201d adopting Trump\u2019s slogan for the measure \u2014 passed the House last Thursday after a series of last-minute negotiations and text changes that proved critical in coalescing GOP support for the legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill, which now is in the Senate\u2019s hands, extends the tax cuts enacted by the president during his first term in 2017; boosts funding for border, deportation, and national defense priorities; imposes reforms, like beefed-up work requirements, on Medicaid that are projected to result in millions of low-income individuals losing health insurance; and rolls back green energy tax incentives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill also increases the debt limit by $4 trillion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think a bill can be big or it could be beautiful,\u201d Musk said, referring to the name of the legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if it could be both,\u201d he added. \u201cMy personal opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
